Vacuum cups

Bags

We offer an optimum selection of vacuum cups to reliably grip unstable film bags and bag packaging. A bag vacuum cup has a sealing lip that adapts flexibly and tightly to the film material without leaving pressure marks or other damage. It is able to withstand dynamic sideways movements without the bag peeling off during the movement. Support ribs prevent the film from being sucked in.

Vacuum cups

Paper

For reliable handling of film, paper or labels using vacuum cups, an adaptable sealing lip that can follow the movements of the goods to be handled is important. A contact surface of the vacuum cups with pronounced support ribs prevents the flexible products from being sucked in and at the same time ensures a good holding force thanks to a large active suction surface.

Food

The requirements for vacuum cups in the food industry range from handling pre-packaged food to direct handling of unpackaged food. The special contours and consistency of the products usually require the design of the vacuum cups to be customised. Our vacuum cups are made of FDA-compliant material for direct contact with food.

Injection Moulding Parts

High flexibility and short removal times with minimal installation space are the requirements that plastics processors place on automated handling solutions. For the safe and precise removal of injection moulded parts, we offer e.g. sprue grippers, parallel grippers and gripper fingers. These are also available with low-marking HNBR pads that can withstand high temperatures and grip sensitive surfaces gently and without leaving marks. Air nippers with various cutting inserts are available for reliable sprue separation.

Vacuum cups

Sheet metal

We offer vacuum cups made of wear- and oil-resistant NBR for handling dry and oiled sheet metal. The multi-part „anti-slip“ cleats on the underside prevent thin sheets from being deep-drawn and absorb high lateral forces. Depending on the application, we differentiate between round and oval flat and bellows vacuum cups as well as bell shaped vacuum cups.

product image

Vacuum cups

Wood

Robust vacuum cup materials are predominantly used in the wood industry. When handling wooden elements or chipboard, the sealing lip of a vacuum cup must be able to seal rough and irregular product surfaces without leaks. The round flat vacuum cups of the SFU-R series and the oval flat vacuum cups of the SOPL-R series are specially designed for this purpose. The Varioflex® bellows vacuum cups are also suitable for handling wood-based materials.

product image

Vacuum cups

Cardboard

We offer various types of vacuum cups for the dynamic handling of cardboard boxes, e.g. in box erectors or when moving boxes that have already been filled. As cardboard boxes have an abrasive surface, vacuum cups made of highly wear-resistant materials are preferably used for this purpose. Bellows vacuum cups made of vinyl, TPU or Varioflex®, a special polyurethane that combines a soft, flexible sealing lip with a harder, stable body using a high-strength 2-component compound, are particularly suitable for this purpose.

Vacuum cups

Injection Moulding Parts

The most common application in the plastics industry is the automated removal of hot plastic parts from the injection moulding machine. Vacuum cup designs are mainly used for this purpose, which make optimum use of the available space due to their design. Temperature-resistant vacuum cup materials, such as HNBR or Thermalon®, which are free of silicone and other paint-wetting-impairment substances (PWIS) and therefore allow the parts to be painted afterwards, are preferably used.

product image

Vacuum cups

Glass

Flat vacuum cups with a diameter of more than 120 mm are preferably used for safe handling and installation of panes, glass and window elements without leaving marks. The sealing lip should rest on the product at a flat angle. Large-area supports absorb lateral forces caused by acceleration or tilting of the panes.

Electronic components

Electrostatic charges can destroy sensitive electronic components, such as printed circuit boards, assembled circuit boards or chips, through uncontrolled discharges (ESD). To avoid such faults, vacuum cups made of antistatic material are used to dissipate the static charge. FIPA offers a large selection of antistatic flat, bellows and oval suction cups for gentle handling of very small components.

Bottles

ID grippers are the right choice for handling bottles from the inside. The expansion gripper is inserted into the bottle and then inflates to fit the inside diameter of the bottle. If the bottle needs to be gripped from the outside, a 3-finger parallel gripper is perfect. In order to be able to move several bottles with one gripper system, we offer a variety of extrusion systems and fastening elements that are compatible with the gripper components mentioned.

Area Grippers

Wood

Area grippers are ideal for handling wooden parts in the wood and furniture industry. Our premium model, the SBX-F area gripper, is ideal for applications with large partial occupancy. It can also handle very low occupancy levels with the highest degree of vacuum, thus ensuring the safe transport of even large and heavy wooden workpieces.

product image

Vacuum components

Sheet metal

Metals are suction-tight materials. This means that a high degree of vacuum can be generated in the application to minimise the required suction surface. Many base or inline ejectors are suitable for this. A compact ejector from the MFE series controls sheet handling particularly conveniently. An electric rotary vane pump can also be used, either dry-running or oil-lubricated.

Vacuum components

Food

The choice of vacuum generator for handling foodstuffs and their packaging depends very much on the very different properties of the goods to be handled. Depending on the size and nature of the workpiece to be moved, all types of base ejectors, multi-chamber ejectors or compact ejectors can be used.

product image

Vacuum components

Paper

When handling paper or film, a vacuum generator with a low vacuum level and higher suction power is selected, as leaks can occur depending on the structure of the paper or film and these must be equalised. Both basic ejectors and multi-chamber ejectors are therefore suitable. A compact ejector MFE can also be used.

product image

Area Grippers

Sacks

A bag gripper is the first choice for efficient handling of sacks or large bags. As sacks differ in size and material, the bag gripper is selected according to these characteristics. Our TG bag gripper is available in various sizes and is ideal for handling sacks.

product image

Vacuum components

Sacks

Many sacks are made from an air-permeable fabric. A vacuum generator with sufficient volume flow is therefore required to compensate for any leaks that occur. All multi-chamber ejectors are suitable here. If the application is to be equipped with an electric pump, dry-running rotary vane pumps or a side channel blower are suitable.

product image

Vacuum components

Wood

When handling wood, leaks are to be expected due to rough surfaces, absorbent workpieces or partial loads. The vacuum generator must therefore generate sufficient volume flow to be able to compensate for leaks. Multi-chamber ejectors are particularly suitable for this. The compact ejector from the MFE series also enables convenient control of vacuum generation for wood applications. If an electric vacuum generator is to be used, a dry-running rotary vane pump or, for an even higher volume flow, a side channel blower are suitable.

Injection Moulding Parts

Ejectors are true all-rounders. They are small, light, robust and virtually maintenance-free. Ejectors with a high vacuum level can be used when handling injection moulded parts, as the injection moulded parts are usually not absorbent. Depending on the size of the component, all types of base ejectors, multi-chamber ejectors or compact ejectors can be used.

product image

Bags

When handling bags and pouches, leaks can easily occur depending on the nature of the bags. A vacuum generator with sufficient volume flow is therefore required for bag handling. Multi-chamber ejectors, base ejectors or the MFE compact ejector are suitable for this.

Vacuum components

Electronic components

When handling electronic components, small, light and suction-tight parts are often moved that need to be picked up quickly and set down again carefully. Compact and inline ejectors from the EIL series are particularly suitable for this type of application.

Area Grippers

Cardboard

The handling of cardboard boxes is the classic application for area grippers. The interaction between the carton structure and the carton load determines the handling behaviour with an area gripper. Our FSG series is available with vacuum cups as well as with sealing foam, so that there is a suitable solution for every carton.

Vacuum components

Pallets

The rough surface can be challenging when handling pallets. The vacuum generator for such an application must be able to provide sufficient volume flow to compensate for leaks in the event of partial occupancy. Multi-chamber ejectors are particularly suitable for this. If an electric vacuum generator is to be used, a dry-running rotary vane pump is ideally suited.

product image

Cardboard

Cardboard packaging is usually permeable to air. The vacuum generator must therefore be able to compensate for any leaks that occur during the handling of cartons and cardboard packaging. A vacuum generator with sufficient volume flow is therefore required. All multi-chamber ejectors, in particular the FMC series and the MFE compact ejector, are suitable here. If the application is to be equipped with an electric pump, dry-running rotary vane pumps are a good choice.
